About Me and Athletic History Part 1

ABOUT ME
I like Superman, unisex names, and photoshopping pictures to make myself look younger. Being as silly, sometimes crude and obnoxious, as humanly possible is my goal in life. I don't even know how I'm employed at times. When I'm not on my mountain bike, I enjoy relaxing at home flipping through Netflix for 2 hrs and running out of time to actually watch anything. I also enjoy cleaning avoidance unless Hoarders is on. That motivates me to dust off that broom. Now I guess I'm going to enjoy blogging. I like math, science, questioning everything, and getting my butt blown up by cursing 8 yr olds when I have time to online game. What can I say, I'm a huge nerd!
I LIKE SPORTS
Holy lips, Batman! Luckily I grew into them. |
Paper guy: "So Mrs. Morelock, how did you get her into sports?"
Mom: "Well we had her in dancing but she was such an awkward dancer we put her in soccer instead."
Quoted in the article the whole town read including my friends. I never danced at a high school dance again. I never really did anyway. Makes for a funny story now though. Love you, Mom!
After the tap dancing fun, they put me in a ton of sports from recreational teams eventually to the more challenging traveling teams. Soccer, basketball, softball, volleyball, everything except underwater basket weaving. Soccer was my main one for a while but when we moved to AZ they weren't as into out here yet, so basketball became my main.
Senior yr State All-Stars |
HIGH SCHOOL
- Had awesome coaches I can't thank enough for pushing us to be our best.
- State Champions in Basketball and several close but no cigar years.
- State runners-up in girls track with only 10 girls.
- Individually all-state and district for track and basketball. A couple years all-district volleyball.
- Traveling softball teams during the summer.
- Colleges were interested for basketball mainly but some for a combo of the sports.
- I was a little nervous coming from a class of 55 to go to a university so chose to stay local and small with a jr. college that is known for its athletic prowess and good academic standings with teams - Central Arizona College (CAC)
- I would be able to do basketball and track after my basketball season. Track team wasn't sure what to do with me since I was pretty decent at a variety of events.
- Post High School did a heptathlon during the summer, which includes the javelin event.
- I like to throw shit far - I was the best out of my family in rock skipping.
- First time throwing the javelin, broke the meet record went on to compete at a big 5 state meet, borrowed a girls javelin from a state that has it and won it all.
I loved my track team and coaches! I'm head locking a couple of teammates |
National Champs Basketball |
- Track team found out about my javelin and decided I'd concentrate on that and the other throws.
- Basketball and track teams rocked it and I came away with two National Championship rings my 2nd year.
- Individually, I did pretty good in basketball. Got my fair share of playing time, had some key moments that helped us out in Nationals, and had All-American academic honors.
- For track despite only having a couple of months to practice fully after basketball, I improved a ton and started winning a lot of meets eventually breaking records and crap. I won our AZ College Championships both years and was National Runner-up both years.
- This wanna be WNBA player was now trying to decide what the hell to do next since I was getting way bigger offers to throw this little ole stick I didn't even know this event existed two years prior and I'd been doing basketball all my life. Whodathunk, right?! Life is funny.
- My first recruiting trip was to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln for javelin. I fell in love . The wonderful atmosphere, coaches, team members, the head coach looked like my grandpa and it was close to my family in Missouri, I cancelled all my other trips. All signs pointed to Go Huskers!
